The children get into programming from scratch and familiarize themselves with the Thymio robot. They craft and program their own game, Thymio is transformed into an alien with a toothache. The sensors become the alien’s teeth, one of which has cavities. The children decide for themselves which tooth this is and program the alien to bite as soon as an opposing team member touches it.
No previous knowledge is required for this module. After a short introduction to robotics, children explore the Thymio robot’s abilities. They first test the pre-programmed behavior patterns and then start programming smaller tasks. Once confidence is gained, it’s time to play!
Children are immersed into robotics, explore Thymio’s different behaviors and learn to understand and master simple technologies.
A room with workstations for all participants and a beamer should be available.
