Wyss Zurich BioSTARS

The talent program offers young people the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of life science, technology and research and experience how these, combined with entrepreneurial spirit, affect human health. Participants will have access to exciting community activities such as lab camps, networking events, workshops and individual coaching.

Unique talent fostering

In the first phase of the talent program - at the summer-camp-, you will gain unique insights into state-of-the-art research laboratories in and around Zurich as well as into promising projects and start-ups.

You will learn the principles and techniques of laboratory work and conduct your own experiments. You will also receive input on entrepreneurship and practice in workshops and group work how research results can be ideally presented or how a start-up can put together a good pitch - and at the end of the camp you and your team colleagues will present your personal group project.

You will also gain insight into exciting projects at the Wyss Zurich Translational Center and learn how groundbreaking new research results and technologies can overcome the „Valley of Death“ and be translated into real life.

In cooperation and in informal exchange with researchers, company founders and others, you will share and discuss your ideas and views, expand your knowledge and build a network of like-minded people.

>> Collaborators summer camp 2024

The summer-camp is just the beginning: Upon successful completion of the camp, you become part of our community (phase 2). We will stay in regular contact and you will be given access to inspiring community activities such as company visits, workshops, possible internships and also to coaching.

Pursue your interests and ideas and become a «future pioneer».

«Being able to work in a research laboratory as a highschool (gymi) student enabled me to see how the math and science I was learning in school could be applied practically and motivated me to pursue a career in science. We are pleased to offer such opportunities for the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs as part of the Wyss Zurich Biostars program.»
